Suha Al-Qishawi



Suha Alqeshawi is a Palestinian-American engineer who has made significant contributions to the Orion spacecraft program at NASA. She is a senior software engineer responsible for software/hardware integration and testing to ensure the spacecraft is functioning properly. Alqeshawi's work is essential for the success of the Orion program, which aims to send humans to deep space for the first time since the Apollo missions.


Alqeshawi was born and raised in Gaza City, Palestine. She grew up in a large family of 10 and was determined to achieve her dreams despite the challenges of living in one of the most challenging places on earth. She graduated from Bashir El-Rayes School in Gaza with a General Secondary Education Certificate and then went on to study computer engineering at the University of Houston in Texas.


After graduating from college, Suha was offered a job at NASA working on the Shuttle Program. She later transitioned to the Orion program, where she has been working ever since. Alqeshawi is responsible for ensuring that the Orion spacecraft's software and hardware work together seamlessly. She tests the spacecraft's systems to identify and fix any problems before it is launched into space.



Alqeshawi is making history as the first Palestinian woman from the Gaza Strip to participate in a mission to the moon and Mars. She is part of the team that developed the software for the Orion spacecraft, which will carry astronauts to the moon on the Artemis I mission.


Alqeshawi is an inspiration to women and girls around the world. She has demonstrated that it is possible to achieve great things even in the face of adversity. She is a role model for young women who are interested in pursuing careers in STEM.


Suha has always been fascinated by space. She remembers watching the Space Shuttle launch on TV as a child and being captivated by the experience. She is passionate about space exploration and believes that it is important for humanity to continue to explore the universe.


Always encouraging young people to follow their dreams and never give up. She believes that hard work and dedication can pay off in the long run. She also encourages young women to pursue careers in STEM fields.


Suha Alqeshawi is a shining example of Palestinian achievement. She is a role model for young Palestinians and an inspiration to people around the world. Her work at NASA is helping to advance the frontiers of space exploration.
